Powerboating
Our Irish Sailing accredited powerboat courses provide practical training for anyone looking to operate powerboats safely and confidently. From beginner introductions to nationally recognised qualifications, participants learn boat handling, navigation, safety procedures and seamanship skills. Ideal for recreational boaters, club members and those working within the marine industry. Introduction to Powerboating – Level 1
The aim of this course is to provide a practical introduction to boat handling and safety on powerboats being used on all Irish coastal waters. It is ideally suited to those new to powerboating and those whose primary role will be as crew on a powerboat. By the end of the course participants will safely and effectively be able to crew a powerboat and take the helm under supervision.

National Powerboat Certificate – Level 2
The aim of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge that allows participants to safely and effectively skipper an open powerboat by day, on inland and coastal waters with which they are familiar.
Many powerboat courses offer either tiller or console certification with their National Powerboat Certificate Courses. At Dunmore Adventure, we will train you in both types of steering. This is particularly important for those moving onto Dinghy Sailing Instructor, as both are necessary to achieve your certification as an Instructor.

Safety Boat Certificate - Level 3
The 2 day Safety Boat Certificate course is designed to teach the skills and knowledge required for those working in environments where they will be providing safety cover to boats, water users and swimmers. The course will introduce candidates to the techniques, skills, equipment and communications whilst at the same time ensuring that persons have the knowledge and skill to take charge of powerboats which are involved in:
- Escorting racing fleets of dinghies, windsurfers, canoes & powerboats.,
- Providing safety cover for training fleets, Racing fleets, Water festivals, water activities within local communities on inland and inshore areas.
- Assisting in race management duties. (Sailing & Powerboat)

- Pre-requisites:Â Irish Sailing National Powerboat Certificate or an equivalent certificate and 20 hours driving experience following qualification.
