Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be able to swim?
For water based activities such as the Wibit Wipeout Aquapark, kayaking and SUP, you DO need to be able to swim. We supply each participant with safety equipment such as a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet, and all activities are very well supervised. However, there is a short swim (in your safety equipment) to the Wibit Wipeout, and therefore you should be able to swim at least 20 metres.
What are the minimum and maximum group sizes?
Minimum group size: 17 participants (to avail of our group rates)
Maximum group size: 220 participants
What is the arrival/departure time?
Arrival time is 9:30, for registration, with the activities kicking off at 10 am. At certain times of the year we can be more flexible on start times, ie if you are travelling from a good distance, we may be able to push the day out by an hour or so. Give us a call if you need further clarification and we will do our best to facilitate you!
The activities conclude at 3 pm which is when you can organise your transport home.
What equipment is supplied
We supply all of the specialised equipment – wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets for water-based activities, and helmets, knee pads where necessary for land activities. If anyone would like to bring a wetsuit, just ensure that it is marked so that it doesn’t get mixed in with our own.
The students will need to bring:
Swimwear, old runners to wear in the water, towel, long sleeves for caving, and a packed lunch.
Do the teachers need to supervise during activities?
No. Once the students are registered in the morning, our instructors will look after them until their lunch break
Teachers are required to look after the students during their lunch break.
When is the tour balance required?
The balance for your school tour is required on the morning of arrival, or earlier.
Is there a distance between the activities?
All activities for our school tours take place at our base in Dunmore East Harbour, so there is no time wasted going from one to the other!
Do you have a shop?
We have a tuck shop selling hot and cold drinks, snacks and icecreams.
The good news is that there is a complimentary Tea and Coffee for teachers and drivers!
