Instructor Pre Entry

This course determines whether candidates wishing to participate in the Sailing Instructor (dinghy) course have the necessary skills and knowledge. It is a mandatory pre-requisite for entry to Sailing Instructor (Dinghy) training. Successful candidates must complete their Instructor training and assessment within 6 months of completing the pre-entry assessment.

Course Content:

Day 1 – Training of skills necessary for assessment (below)*

Day 2 – Assessment on boat handling, navigation, pilotage, rules of the road, weather, coastal knowledge & ropework.

* It should not be assumed that completing the training day prior to assessment will automatically guarantee a successful outcome on the assessment day

Course Duration: 1 or 2 day – one day of training and one day of assessment.
