At Dunmore Adventure, we’re committed to making your visit as enjoyable, inclusive, and safe as possible. Our team welcomes visitors of all abilities and will always do our best to adapt our activities and facilities to meet your individual needs.

While we are not fully wheelchair accessible for all activities, we can accommodate guests with a range of mobility, sensory, or learning needs. Many activities can be tailored with advance notice, and we encourage anyone with specific access requirements to contact us before visiting.

Getting Here

We’re located at The Harbour, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford, Ireland — easily accessible by car and within walking distance of the harbour and village.

By Car:

  • Eircode: X91 KD40
  • Disabled parking bays are available in the harbour, within 50 metres of the Centre entrance.
  • There is a ramped pathway from the car park to the main reception.
  • A bus parking space is also available approximately 50 metres from the Centre.

By Bus:

  • The nearest bus stop is in Dunmore East village (Bus Éireann services from Waterford City).
  • From there, it’s approximately a 10–15 minute walk to the Centre.

By Train:

  • The nearest train station is Waterford (Plunkett Station).
  • Taxis are available at the station, and we can advise on accessible taxi services on request.

  • Our website provides details of each activity
  • Large print versions of safety information and activity descriptions can be provided on request.
  • Our team are happy to describe activities verbally for visitors with visual impairments.

Services

  • Staff are trained in water safety and customer care, and we are happy to offer pre-visit familiarisation on request.
  • Visitors with learning difficulties or sensory sensitivities are welcome. We can discuss quieter times to visit when you contact us.
  • If you require assistance on your visit, please speak to a member of our team at reception.

Facilities and Equipment

  • Ramped access to the main reception.
  • Disabled toilets are available in our land base area.
  • Disabled parking spaces are located in the Harbour near the Centre.
  • Seating is available outside the reception area in our Water Base, and our land base.
  • Adapted equipment:
    • Supportive seating can be provided for kayaking for participants who can sit upright.
    • Other water activities may not be suitable for wheelchair users; we recommend contacting us in advance to confirm suitability.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome on site.

Access to Public Areas

  • Step-free access to the main reception (with portable ramp), land base, and toilet facilities.
  • Seating is available outside the reception area, and land based area.
  • Our team can assist with transfers to and from activity areas if required.
